We are delighted to announce that Bill Jermey, Company Secretary of ftc and Chairman of the Institute of Meat has been awarded ‘Food Industry Champion of the Year’ at the Food Management Today industry awards.
The awards were held on 25th May at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London and were presided over by Celebrity Chef, Matt Tebbutt. The event celebrates innovation, service and great products from different sectors of food production, manufacturing and retailing.
Recently retired as Chief Executive of ftc, Bill’s career in food manufacturing and training spans over half a century. The former Chief Executive was recognised for his leadership and dedication to improving food training schemes and for successfully lobbying government to add food manufacturing qualifications to its Lifetime Skills Guarantee programme.
Christine Walsh, current CEO of ftc, commented,
‘ I can’t think of a more deserving winner of this prestigious award. Bill is passionate about the British food industry and food industry careers. He has worked tirelessly to support both throughout his long career.’
